Hockey and The Kids in the Hall - I lived and breathed both when I was in high school. Years later I had the chance to combine these two things while creating tons of designs and illustrations for the KITH latest effort, Death Come to Town!

From character montages to logo designs to a full-on hockey rink you can check them all out at the show’s official site - www.cbc.ca/kidsinthehall

Thanks to Trevor Shaikin for hooking me up with a great gig!

Water on the Table

Recently, I worked with documentary filmmaker, Liz Marshall, to create the opening title sequence and end credit sequence for her feature film and television documentary, Water on the Table. Here is a a little blurb about the film from the official website:

“Water On The Table is a character-driven social issue documentary by Liz Marshall featuring Maude Barlow, who is known as an “international water-warrior” for her crusade against the privatisation of water. The film asks the question: Is water a commercial good like running shoes or Coca-Cola? Or, is water a human right like air?”

As part of a special World Water Day Week on TVO, The View From Here will premier the broadcast hour of Water On The Table Wednesday March 24, 2010 at 10 pm.

In the meantime you can watch the trailer on YouTube.

I worked with Clean Sheet Communications to illustrate and design this homage to the classic Bicycle playing card for the Responsible Gambling Council. Woven into the design you can find six icons that may indicate you have a gambling issue. Now, put down them dice and take a look!

I recently designed the title sequence and graphics package for the documentary Pedal Power. Here is a blurb from the producers of the doc:

“From bicycle-mad Paris to rush-hour New York and the back alleys of Toronto, Pedal Power takes a ride through the changing world of bike culture. And with exclusive background access to Igor Kenk - exclusive footage of how he operated and built a legendary reputation on Queen Street West - this major documentary explores the two-wheeled revolution in our streets.”

Catch Pedal Power on the CBC series Doc Zone on Thursday September 24 at 8pm on CBC-TV (and repeated on Friday September 25 at 10pm on CBC Newsworld).

Thanks to The Secret Location and Cogent/Benger Productions for the opportunity to work on this doc which inspired me both as a designer and a cyclist!
